Six generations of the Binks family have run this business from the same corner of Queen Street. Today it is led by Richard Binks, alongside his son Alex.
Our story
Six generations, one family, the same doors.
JW Binks was founded in Morley in 1870. Over five generations, the business has grown from a small local undertaker into a fully equipped independent funeral directors — but it has never changed hands, and it has never stopped being run by the family.
Today, Richard Binks runs JW Binks alongside his son Alex, the sixth generation of the family. That continuity is why so many families in Morley, Churwell, Drighlington and Gildersome return to us across generations of their own.
We are proud to remain independent. Every decision about how a funeral is arranged, priced and carried out is made here, on Queen Street.

Richard Binks

Richard has been arranging funerals in Morley for over 30 years. He runs the business alongside his son Alex and the rest of the team.
Alex Binks
Funeral Director, 6th Generation
Alex is the sixth generation of the Binks family in the business, and works alongside his father Richard on every arrangement.
Kelly Louise Binks
Funeral Director & Office Manager
Kelly has become a valuable member of the JW Binks family as well as a friendly and welcoming face to anybody who visits our premises.

We are the only funeral directors in the area with our own private chapel, function room and vehicle fleet.
